In 2006, my partner and I decided to down-size to a rural one level home, soon to realise that all was not as it was supposed to be and where the fears of some ownerships plagued and damaged the lives of those who simply wanted to live in peace. Those fears, mostly coming from intimidations and financial exploitations needed to be tackled and faced head on and so, in 2008, the first proactive alliance was formed between Residents Associations at 17 sites under the same ownership and the winning battles then began. Today this work (mostly behind the scenes) continues without borders to challenge the unacceptable, reveal the exploitations and how to tackle them, whilst exposing the more prolific rogue operators, from the mildly unscrupulous to those associated to organised crime. Although the Park Homes Policy Forum is widely recognised as an industry stakeholder and our members views and our representations are always heard, we are not campaigners, preferring instead to devote our time and energy toward the day-to-day battles that no-one else is willing to tackle.
