Sewerage charges for mobile home parks are typically paid either directly to a water company or through the park owner via site fees.

Site owners are responsible for maintaining sewage infrastructure up to the home's connection point.

When reselling water/sewerage services, park owners cannot charge more than what they pay.

Key details regarding sewerage charges:

  • Payment Methods: Charges may be included in the pitch fee, billed directly by the water company, or calculated by the site owner as a percentage of the park's total bill.

  • Resale Regulation: Site owners are considered "resellers" if they invoice you. According to Ofwat regulations, they cannot profit from this, must provide a breakdown of how the cost was calculated, and can only charge what they pay for water and sewerage services.

  • Maintenance Responsibility: The park owner is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the sewerage pipes leading up to the connection point at your pitch.

  • Individual Meters: If your unit has a separate water meter, you are likely to be billed based on usage; if not, charges are often split equally between homes.

  • Disputes: If you believe you are being overcharged, you can ask for evidence of the costs from the site owner.

It is essential to check your written agreement for the specific arrangement regarding utility charges.
